Because you live, eat and sleep in your home seven days a week, you want the interior to be exactly right. With a design that forms a complete and harmonious whole, in which no individual element is dominant. That’s what we strive for at Crafts in Harmony.
Crafts in Harmony is a group of nine interior artists.
We work independently, with no overall project leader.
n ambiance that looks as if it’s always been there… but in fact was only created recently by a master painter. Based on quality and perfection in every detail.
Following her education at the Van Der Kelen – Logelain Institute in Brussels, Caroline Thys started her career as a specialist in restoration and fine paintwork.
From 1998 to 2008 she continued
to develop her knowledge and experience, both nationally and internationally. And since 2008 she has had her own restoration and fine painting company: ‘La Tinta’.
Her goal is clear: paint, colours, restoring beautiful work. From which she has developed a passion for patina and textures. She uses these most of all in authentic interiors. But her work also includes modern architecture. She prefers to prepare and pigment the different kinds of paints herself, in her atelier, using traditional materials. And she not only works on walls – furniture, panelling, ceilings, floors and windows can all be given a masterly finishing touch by this specialist in fine paintwork.
To realise your dream interior, La Tinta’s range of materials includes chalk paint. This gives rooms an authentic look, with depth and structures: striped, cloudy or with woven and textured effects.
A traditional natural plaster effect is used on brickwork, both indoors and outdoors. This plaster layer, with lighter and darker areas, gives natural, living effects that change with the underlying surface and the season.
Bathrooms and kitchens are often finished in stucco (or ‘Venetian plaster’): a sealed, waterproof chalk-based plaster, applied with a knife or plastic trowel, giving a similar effect to Moroccan tadelakt.
But La Tinta’s palette of materials is even richer: wood, imitation marble, trompe l’œil, gilding and other techniques all give your interior extra ambiance and depth.
How do you become a master painter? With a passion for your work, complemented by knowledge of materials, a strong sense of quality, a feeling for trends and an eye for detail. These factors combine to give La Tinta a unique and well deserved place within Crafts in Harmony!
